JKUAT hosted the  Sixth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD-VI) a Pre-Event on Higher Education on Friday, July 22 2016.  the Faculty was represented through various research exhibition and presentations. Faculty Welcome the RUFORUM CEO

The  RUFORUM CEO, Prof. Adipala paid a courtesy call to JKUAT and discussed with the faculty possible areas of collaboration in the upcoming research projects. He reported that there are  new two calls, that is, Erasmus Plus and the INTRA-ACP that will be of interest to JKUAT.  JKUAT will develop proposals in areas of Energy, Research Methods and statistics (stem) and  to consider partnering with UoN for one in Governance and Climate Change. Faculty Held a successful E-Resources workshop

The faculty of Agriculture, in partnership with the Library department held a one day workshop on E-resources. The event was graced by the DVC Academic Affairs who requested staff to guard against Plagiarism in scholarly work. The Director of research for JKUAT highlighted issues to do with ranking and importance of publishing in high rank or high impact Journals. He challenged staff to develop the culture of publishing in well recognised journal rather the lowly recognized and  expensive journals. Faculty of Agriculture Hosts Visiting Okayama Professors

Ten profs. from the okayama University led by the Dean Faculty, Prof  Kiyoshi Okunda visited the faculty of Agriculture . Prof. Okuda was an seminar on research activities at their faculty on various aspects of animal Sciences. He talked about the assisted reproductive technologies research in okayam, genetic improvement and gene defects and infertility in animals, animal nutrition  and reproductive physiology. He related the reproductive physiology to climate change and the challenges faced in veterinary infertility in Japan

All roads led to Maputo-Mozambique for African universities offering agricultural training and research, to participate in the 4th Biennial RUFORUM Conference. This conference, held between 19th and 25th July 2014, coincided with the 10th anniversary of RUFORUM and marked a landmark in the convergence of African agricultural science philosophy and the objectives of pan African-leadership, fitting well within the African Union’s (AU) annual theme of Agriculture and Food Security. Faculty Launch an EDULINK project

JKUAT together with other partners launch the Partnerships to Strengthen University Food and Nutrition Sciences Training and Research in Eastern and Southern Africa (PASUFONS). The project is being implemented in Makerere University, Uganda, Jomo Kenyatta University of Science and Technology, Nairobi, and Stellenbosch University, South Africa. The project, funded by the European Union, under the Secretariat of the African, Caribbean, and Pacific (ACP) Group of States and ACP-EU Co-operation Programme in Higher Education (EDULINK II).  The JKUAT Vice Chancellor in charge of Research, Production and Extension grace the occasion

Faculty Host visiting Slovak Professors

  The Faculty of Agriculture hosts five visiting professors from the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra. JKUAT has initially signed an MOU with the University and the faculty will sign an MOA with the faculty of Agro-biology. The MOU will spell out mode of cooperation between the two faculties.  The team led by the Dean, prof. Kamil Hudec, accompanied by three vice deans and a senator toured the University facilities and paid a courtesy to the JKUAT VC and will give presentation about their university and likely areas of collaboration.
