The admissions office falls under the Registrar Academic Affairs. The Deputy Registrar Admissions responsible for the admissions of all undergraduate regular (Government Sponsored) and self-sponsored students, and managing students’ matters in consultation with the Registrar AA. We are keen on increasing student admission and retention within approved policy and strategic framework.

As the demand of higher education continues to increase tremendously, the Admission office continues to play its strategic role of improving access to quality, relevance and equality to undergraduate education to all qualified applicants. Admission to any programme is done according to laid down procedures. Admission options available to prospective students are as follows:

Undergraduate (Government of Kenya sponsored) students are admitted each year through the Joint Admission Board (JAB). These are mostly KCSE candidates. Government of Kenya sponsored (JAB) students are normally admitted in September each year, at the JKUAT main campus in JUJA. Undergraduate (Self-Sponsored) students are admitted to various programmes each year in JKUAT Campuses and Centres all over the country. The applicants must meet the minimum entry requirements for each programme. Apart from JKUAT main campus which is located at Juja, other JKUAT campuses where self-sponsored students are admitted are: Nairob CBD Campus, Nairobi Westland Campus, Karen Campus, Mombasa CBD Campus, Nakuru CBD Campus, Kisii CBD Campus, Kisumu CBD Campus, Kakamega CBD Campus and Kitale CBD Campus. Using campus approach, JKUAT has extended educational opportunity to your doorstep across the country.

Application Procedure:
The admission for self-sponsored programmes is done internally at JKUAT main campus, or through its campuses countrywide. Application forms may be obtained from the main campus at JKUAT in the various schools/faculties, upon payment of non-refundable application fee of Kshs. 500/=, 1000, and 1500/= for Certificate, Diploma and Degree programmes respectively. The application fee may be paid by direct deposit through any of the Account Number provided in the website. Bankers’ cheques are also accepted. The complete application forms, copies of certificates/results lips, two pass-port size photographs and two copies of application fee receipts should be returned to the Dean of the school/faculty, in which the application is sought; Director of the campus; or Registrar Academic Affairs, (Admission Office) at the main campus JUJA; or sent to the Registrar Academic Affairs (Admission Office) JKUAT, Box 62000-00200 NAIROBI. The complete application can also be downloaded from the university website at www.jkuat.ac.ke.  The advertisements for intakes are usually carried in the local dailies, two months before intake, during October/November, February/March and June/July each year.

International students
In accordance with JKUAT’s vision of being a University of Global Excellence in Training, Research and Innovation for Development, and the Motto of Setting Trends in Higher Education Research and Innovation, JKUAT has two (2) international campuses namely: Arusha Campus in Tanzania and Kigali Campus in Rwanda; and four (4) international centres namely: Kaduna Polytechnic in Nigeria, Gollis University in Hargesia in Somaliland, and University of Somali and University of Savanna respectively in Mogadishu, Somali. JKUAT continues to admit international students into undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Currently, the population of international students stand at 643, drawn from East Africa region, Zambia, Malawi, Botswana, Sudan, The Gambia, Liberia, Nigeria, Eritrea, Ethiopia Somaliland, Somali and Germany.
