WARREC hosts forum to Explore Areas of Collaboration and Scholarship Opportunities with Cranfield University, UK.

On February 19th 2016, the Water Research and Research Center hosted Dr. Samina Masood, the International Partnership Manager, Marketing, Communication and Development, Cranfield University, UK. Dr. Masood visited JKUAT/WARREC to explore areas of collaboration and discuss opportunities for Msc. And PhD scholarships for Africa as well as Faculty development programmes at Cranfield University.

In her speech, Dr. Masood echoed the need for carrier progression and encouraged the student finalist to consider advancing their carriers which will open many opportunities. She further articulated Cranfield’s commitment to supporting quality research and innovations and urged students to apply for the many scholarship opportunities that are available. She called for a strong and fruitful partnership with JKUAT a venture which will lead to carrier development in Kenya and Africa as a whole.

On the other hand Prof. Bancy Mati, the Director Water Research and Resource Center (WARREC) welcomed Dr. Masood and commended her for visiting JKUAT to share information that could lead to carrier development. She encouraged students to utilize the information shared to further their carriers so as to enhance development.

The function was attend by WARREC staff, Soil water and Environmental Engineering (SWEE)and Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (ABE) staff and students, Dean School of Biosystems and Environmental Engineering Dr. Urbanus Mutwiwa, Chairman SWEED Dr. James Messo and Chairman ABED Dr. Gareth Kituu.
