The Soil, Water and Environmental Engineering Department (SWEED) received Bachelor of Science Water and Environment Management (WEM)-first year students at the department on 8th September 2017. The students were welcomed by the members of both teaching and non-teaching staffs under the chairperson of Dr. (Eng) James R. Messo. Every member of the department was given opportunity to address the students and they all reiterated and emphasized on the importance of discipline in the life of a student.
The Chairman of the department, Dr. (Eng). Messo warned the students on the consequences of not following the University Rules and Regulations. He said that the students should memorize especially the Examinations Rules and Regulations as they do with their religious Books. This was actually meant to avoid cases of examinations irregularities and cheating and prepare the students for academic work ahead.
The students were also advised to stay vigilant and avoid bad companies that destroy their good morals. They were informed that at the University, students are introduced to various types of drugs and if they are not careful, they may be introduced to them by the colleagues.
