Message from the COD

Dear Friends, Alumni and colleagues;
This academic year (2019/2020) will be a very exciting year in the Department of Soil, Water and Environmental Engineering(SWEED) as our excellence in higher education, research and innovation continues to take shape. This year, will see the launch of new and exciting initiatives in teaching, research and innovation.
Weekend based Master programs
Already the two Masters programs offered over the weekends and launched in January 2016 have attracted several students. The sixth cohort will be joining in January 2019 and applications are currently being received and processed immediately by Board of Postgraduate Studies. We hope that these transformative changes that saw the birth of this new department in June 2015 will increase our stature and ranking, raise our visibility, and make our alumni and friends proud.
A window of Opportunity
Although there are some challenges hindering a smooth upward progression, associated with difficult periods being experienced world over, we find that a window of opportunity has been opened up. This window gives us a chance to rebuild our core strengths, explore new directions, expand our space and infrastructure, and share the creativity and impact of our work with the world. Watch our Department!
