The course has been designed to produce ‘hands-on’ professionals with a broad range of skills in laboratory-based biomedical sciences. Successful completion of the course enables the candidates to meet the Standards set by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists’ Board (KMLTTB).
The course caters for the needs of non-accredited graduates to meet the regulatory requirements, but also with a university award in recognition of completion of your study. Graduates of the course will be eligible to sit the examination for registration by the KMLTTB.
1.1.1 Candidates must have a minimum of an undergraduate degree in any relevant biological-based discipline from a university recognized by the JKUAT Senate with the equivalent of an honours degree.
1.1.2 Credit Transfer
184.108.40.206 Depending on the nature of the candidate’s undergraduate degree or in the event that a candidate has a postgraduate degree in an area that is part of the Postgraduate Diploma in MLS, and with appropriate justification, a candidate may be exempted from certain units.
220.127.116.11 Credit transfer shall not exceed 20% of the PGDipMLS course. Credit transfer will therefore constitute a maximum of three (3) units offered in the course.
18.104.22.168 In the even that any of the compulsory units listed in 1.3.3 are involved in the credit transfer, then 22.214.171.124 shall still apply.
126.96.36.199 The Practical/Oral examinations shall not be eligible for credit transfer.
