JKUAT to Host Higher Education Breakthrough for Human Resource Development and Innovation in Africa Pre-event

Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) in collaboration with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will hold a TICAD VI pre-event on Higher education at its Main Campus in Juja, July 22, 2016.

The event dubbed Higher Education Breakthrough for Human Resource Development and Innovation in Africa will provide a platform for key stakeholders from Africa and Japan to collectively discuss human resource development in higher education and what is needed to strengthen Industry-Government-Academia linkages from a global perspective in order to Nature cutting edge Science and Technology Innovations (STI) in Africa.

The Chief Guest will be Dr. Fred O. Matiangi, Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology. He will be joined by the Japanese Ambassador to Kenya, Tushitsugu Uesawa.

Other key guests include, Dr. Takao Toda, JICA Director General, Human Development Department, Prof. Juichi Yamagiwa, President, Kyoto University, Dr. Kevit Desai, Chairman, Linking Industry with Academia (LIWA) and Prof. Ahmed Magdy El-Gohary, President, Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST).
