Small IT firms to benefit from Sh115m fund

Thirty three small and medium enterprise IT firms are set to benefit from a three-year export fund of Sh115 million ($1.26 million) from the Netherlands Trust Fund, aimed at creating new markets for their services. This follows the signing of an agreement between the ICT ministry and the Netherlands government on Tuesday. Biometric cards to be used for cash transfers

  Biometric smart cards will now be used to distribute the monthly State stipend for the elderly, orphans and the disabled in an effort to curb fraud. President Uhuru Kenyatta Tuesday launched the cards that will capture fingerprints of the beneficiaries or their caregivers.
