The Engineering Workshop Staff took some time off of their workstations on Friday and Saturday to bond. Lead by the Workshop Manager Dr. Peter Kihato, the team visited Abantu and Ol Pajeta where they had an opportunity to interact and make merry away from the formal workplace. The expansive Ol Pajeta offered an opportunity to see close range number of animals including Buffaloes Rhinos, Water Bucks and Wilde Beasts.
Organized by the Departmental Staff Welfare, the occasion afforded participants some quality time to interact and reflect on their general welfare as one family. Mr. Ngugi, a Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering encouraged members to remain united as they spent most of their active employment life at work and therefore it was important to understand and tolerate one another for a successful department.
Being the first event attended by the new Head of Department, Dr Kihato was impressed by the manner in which the departmental staff were united for the common goal of the department. He wished that through empowering workshop staffs to be their own managers, productivity and morale will be greatly enhanced.
