MAY 2017 ADMISSION IN MASTER OF CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGEMENT IN JUJA MAIN CAMPUS
Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology invites qualified candidates to apply for the May 2016 admission into the Masters of Construction project Management to be offered in our Construction Management Department at main Campus. The Masters course has been designed for professional involved in the Construction industry or recent graduates who have a recognized degree in Construction Management, Quantity surveying, Civil Engineering, Estate & Property Management, Landscape Architecture and Architecture. The course will be conducted in the Main Campus at Juja.
The aim of this programme is to produce expert managers of construction projects, well equipped with state of the art skills for imaginative initiation and effective leadership of construction projects, from project inception through project implementation and post occupancy evaluation, to refinement of investment strategy. The objectives will be to: instruct the student in advanced management theory and various project procurement systems; equip the student in the fundamentals of project initiation, feasibility appraisal, planning and implementation: develop the student’s management skills in solving practical problems in the construction process; instruct the student in the fundamentals of strategic planning and implementation of strategic plans; and develop the student’s capacity to understand research and scholarly work.
The Master’s Programme shall be done by coursework, examination and project, where upon the minimum duration for this course shall be four (4) semesters two (2) academic years) and the maximum duration be eight (8) semesters (four (4) academic year). The course shall be done on FULL-TIME AND/OR ON PART- TIME basis.
Minimum admission requirement
For applicants who have a recognized basic degree in the Built Environment (as indicated above) the following shall apply;
- A holders of First Class or an Upper Second Class Honors Degree in a field related to the built environment.
- Be a graduate of a University or any other Institution of higher learning recognized by the JKUAT senate as being of equivalent academic status for the purpose of admission to the program;
- A holder of Second Class Honors, Lower Division of JKUAT or any other Institutions recognized by JKUAT senate as being of equivalent academic status, and who in addition must show proof of either two (2) years relevant experience and professional development of academic advancement through research, publication and postgraduate certificate course related to Project Management since graduation with the Bachelor’s degree, or a Postgraduate Diploma in the relevant field.
