This is to inform all students that the industrial staff dispute has now been resolved and classes and other academic activities will commence as follows:
Classes will officially commence on Friday, 21st September 2012.
As you are aware, we have lost 3 weeks teaching time and mechanisms are being worked out to make up for the lost teaching time. It is important for you to make sure that you avail yourselves for teaching on Monday, 25th September 2012 from 8.00 a.m. promptly.
First year students did not complete the orientation programme. As per earlier scheduled orientation programmes, first year students were expected to report to their faculties, schools and institutes on Friday, 7th September, 2012 for issue of regulations, introduction to faculty/departmental staff, including the faculty/schools facilities. This now has been rescheduled to take place on Monday, 24th September, 2012 in the same venues and times indicated on the orientation programme e.g. 9.00 – 1.00 p.m.: Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Science & ADP Science, Institute of Computer Science & Information Technology: 2.00 – 5.00 p.m.: College of Engineering and Technology, School of Architecture & Building Sciences, School of Human Resource and COHES.
Classes therefore commence promptly on Tuesday, 25th September 2012 at 8.00 a.m.
Address by Registrar and other officers of the university will take place on Thursday, 27th September, 2012 in the Assembly Hall from 9.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. Dates for address by Deputy Vice-Chancellor (AA) and the Vice Chancellor will be communicated to you later.
