Registration

Registration is on for the September intake for main campus.

Qualifications of our candidates is as follows:

You are eligible to apply if you have attained any of the following qualification:

(i)        Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with at least a mean aggregate of at least grade B– (minus); and mean grade  for the total score in the four cluster subjects must be at least B(plain); and the following minimum grades in the individual cluster subjects:

Alternative A – Mathematics C+(plus), Physics C+(plus), Chemistry C+(plus), and Geography or Biology, or any of Group II C+ (plus), or any Group III           C+(plus) or any Group IV C+(plus); Alternative B – Mathematics C+(plus), Physical Sciences b(plain), Biological Sciences C+(plus), and Geography or any of Group IV C+(plus), or equivalent qualification obtained in other examination systems or

(ii)     Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education (KACE) or the

A-level with at least two principal passes in Mathematics and Physics; and at least a total score of nine (9) points, and at least a credit pass in Chemistry at the KCE or its equivalent or

(iii)    Diploma applicants holding: JKUAT University Diploma with at least a Credit pass in the relevant discipline.  Such applicants will be eligible to join the second year of study or Ordinary Diploma from an institution recognized by the Senate having been awarded and examined by the Kenya National examinations Council or any other external examinations body recognized by the University Senate as being of equivalent status, with at least a credit pass in relevant discipline.  Such applicants will be eligible to join the course in the second year of study or Higher National Diploma from an institution recognized by the University Senate, having been awarded and examined by the Kenya National Examinations Council, or, any other external examinations body recognized by the University Senate as being of equivalent status, with at least a credit pass in a relevant discipline.  Such applicants will be eligible to join the course in the third year of study or

(iv)    A holder of any other qualifications recognized by the Senate as equivalent to (i), (ii), or (iii) above.

HOW TO APPLY

You will be able to obtain application forms from the office of the Principal, College of Engineering and Technology, JKUAT, upon payment of a non-refundable fee of KShs. 1,500/= for Kenyans and US$ 50.00 for foreign students. Your duly filled application form should be returned to the address below before August, 2012 for the programmes commencing in September, 2012.

    i want to pursue a degree course in civil engineering and i did a diploma in civil engineering (KNEC) and got a pass and i thought according to your advert on daily nation on 4th Wednesday 2012 on page 43 i would join 2nd year,which i think the information is contradicting with the website and newspaper.please i would be happy if i would be considered in the second year entry

    I, Mark Manthi would like to ask you whether i could qualify to do Mechanical. I scored a mean grade of B- (minus) and B+ maths, B- chemistry, B- biology and c physics but went to Nairobi University to bridge and got A-.

      If your examining body was KNEC you have qualified.
      If you got a pass after your diploma you eligible to join first (1) year,if you had a Credit you eligible to join 2nd year if you have a Higher National Diploma you eligible to join 3rd year.
      At the moment you cannot apply for mature entry that is 2nd and third year but you can apply for first year before 25th May.

      That was for the continuing students. Our intake is in September and we have hit the deadline for application but you can come in as a late applicant as early as now.

      Bill, it is important for you to travel to JKUAT main campus to ensure that your application form gets to us in time as the deadline is on 25th.
      Alternatively you could download the application form and send it to the Principal College of Engineering and Technology and include the 1500 for payment of the form.

    hi.i was looking at the fee structure for self sponsored students applying for engineering degree courses and i couldn’t see anything about accomodation.when one joins as a self sponsored student do you offer them accomodation upon payment of requierd fees or are they to look for accomodation outside the college.thanks

      In Nairobi campus the eligible candidates have higher national diplomas, because its only third year who are admitted there. Kindly visit the Nairobi campus for more details
