On Friday November 17, 2017, 4,131 students were conferred with various degrees and awarded diplomas during the 30th Graduation Ceremony of Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT). The ceremony was graced by JKUAT Chancellor, Prof. Geoffrey Ole Maloiy. Mombasa campus had 196 graduates in total. PhD graduates were 11, Masters 45, Bachelors 79, Diploma 21 and certificate 40. The JKUAT Mombasa CBD team of select lecturers, led by our director, Dr. Fridah Simba facilitated a successful training at the APDK Bombolulu workshop and Cultural Centre in Mombasa on 21/01/2017. The training was geared at empowering and improving the skills of both the general and management staff. The following JKUAT Mombasa students have been selected to join the Presidential Digital Talent Programme. Alex Wainaina Shaffi Lali Stanley Methusela Njoroge Gatobu Magambo William Kitavi The program provides internship to ICT and engineering graduates. The trainees undergo mentorship in private and public institutions for a period of one year. The first 100 trainees graduated in March 2016 and another group of 400 are already onboard undergoing training. The program aims at achieving workforce development for effective and efficient services delivery leveraging on ICT.
