Master of Science in Finance.

The program is tailored to prepare students in careers, financial institutions, finance department of companies, regulatory institutions and government departments.
It’s also for the purpose of encouraging research in the dynamic and ever evolving disciplines of finance and economics that can enable them initiate and or comprehend innovations in the financial markets, processes and instruments.

A candidate must satisfy either of the following:
•Be a holder of bachelor of commerce degree with at least upper second class honor from JKUAT or
•Bachelor of business administration  or accounting with an upper second class honors or
•Bachelor of Science degree in finance, accounting, mathematics, statistics, engineering, physics, actuarial science or related quantitative discipline from JKUAT or any other recognized university with at least an upper second class honors.
•Bachelor degree in any relevant field with an upper second class honors from JKUAT or any other recognized university with final qualification in CFA(Certified Financial Analyst) or CQF(Certified Quantitative Finance) or post graduate diploma at least credit pass in finance, accounting , or statistics, actuarial science, mathematics or any quantitative field.
•Holders of lower second class honors of science degree in finance, accounting, mathematics, statistics, engineering physics, actuarial science or related quantitative disciplines from JKUAT or any other recognized university.

The program is offered in 4 academic semesters and the candidate must complete the degree within a minimum of two calendar years or a maximum of four calendar years
The first academic year will comprise ten (12) course unit and the second year will comprise of five (11) course units each unit having a series of 45 contact hours.

    When is your next intake for Master of science in Finance? I have CPAK and Bachelor of Business Management from Moi University.

      Welcome to Kisii CBD campus. We appreciate your interest in our program at the campus. Our intake is usually done on January, May and September. Now our next intake is September, we’re currently receiving applications for September intake. The application fee for postgraduate program is Ksh 1500.


  2. I am a holder of Bachelor of Education Mathematics and Business Studies from Kenyatta University, Second class Upper. Do I qualify. Can I enroll now for September 2015 intake or it’s late?

      Please let me request more time to respond in regard to whether you’re qualified or the field of your study is relevant to the course you want to enroll in. But in terms of enrollment time; I can say at this time of my response is a little late but you can apply and wait for the Jan Intake. Sorry, I wasn’t able to respond in time.

    I did Bachelor of Commerce from JKUAT and graduated with Upper 2nd Class Honors. Am interested in joining MSc. Finance course. Am I too late for the September Intake? If not when can I join next. I would also wish to know your fee structure. Kindly clarify to me if I can be able to learn during the weekends as my weekly schedule is too tight.

      For you you directly qualify to join Msc Finance. Concerning the Sep. Intake please hurry we’re doing late applicants and we’re just about to close this session till the next intake in Jan 2016. Actually most postgraduate programmes attend their lectures during weekend. The Tuition Fee is Ksh 80250/=. Please feel free to apply with us as soon as possible. The September Intake is on but for a very short period.

    I recently graduated with Bcom accounts from your campus in kisii but yet to get my certificate can i enroll for a masters degree before i receive the certificate and which are the other documents do i need to bring for admission

      Yes, you can enroll for the Masters degree. Come your result slip, the application letter and the application fee.

    do i qualify for MSC Finance?

  6. Hi i did Bachelors Actuarial Science from Dedan Kimathi University and yet to graduate in April with second class lower but have proof of ability to research. Do i qualify to begin my Masters immediately?

    • Hi Vincent,this are the qualification for MSc.Finance the Bachelors degree with at least Upper Second Class Honours or equivalent from a recognized university OR Bachelors degree with Lower Second Class Honours plus at least two years relevant experience
