Ekegusii Programs At Kisii CBD Campus

Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) will soon start Ekegusii programmes at Kisii CBD campus.
Dr. Bichang’a speaking on Friday the 08th June 2015 at St. Patricks Mosocho Mixed Secondary School in Kitutu Chache South Sub-county during a prize giving ceremony, JKUAT Kisii CBD campus Deputy Director said they had been permitted by the Varsity senate to have the program in Kisii campus to offer terminal training or entrepreneurial and farming skills.
Dr. Bichang’a said they have signed a memorandum of understanding with Nyamira County Government and they are slated to sign another MoU with the Kisii County Government before they commence the programs.
“We signed a MoU with the Nyamira County Government on 12th May 2015, and we are signing another one with the Kisii County Government so that we can start the programs,” said the Deputy Director.
Dr. Bichang’a said, “The vernacular programs would help mothers to be equipped with knowledge on how they carry out their business and other projects they may involve themselves in. Our target group is the illiterate people who cannot understand programs better in other languages especially in English. Therefore, through the introduction of the programs set in vernacular, we will help them understand better the techniques of excelling in business and other spheres,” he noted.
Additionally he continued, “God created us in different ways. Therefore, you cannot compel one be like you but help them in promoting their ability.”
Dr. Bichang’a has made the appeal to anybody interested in enrolling in the three month course to so, so that they may learn emerging ways of carrying out businesses and farming, which he said will empower them economically.
