This programme prepares candidates to work in areas of purchasing and supplies in both private and public sectors. The course is structured to reflect the dynamic changes n purchasing and supplies processes and provide a basis for the world of work providing ethical principles and practices in decision making in an operating business environment.
Secondary school leavers who have attained the minimum university requirement and wish to develop their career in purchasing and supply management.
A candidate must satisfy the following qualification;
•Be a holder of a KCSE certificate with a minimum of C+ and a minimum of C in both mathematics and English or Kiswahili or
•Be a holder of KCE division two with credit pass in both mathematics and English/Kiswahili or
•Be a holder of KACE certificate with a principal pass and a subsidiary pass from JKUAT or any recognized institution or
•Be a holder of diploma in purchasing and supplies management with a minimum of a credit pass from JKUAT or any recognized institution by the senate or
•Be a holder of diploma in purchasing and supplies management with a pass and a minimum of five years work experience.
The program shall take a minimum of four academic years or maximum of six years. each academic year has two semesters having a total of 14 units totaling to 56 units for the entire course. Courses are offered in terms of units of 35 one hour lecture each in a series. each candidate will be required to take an industrial attachment of 8 weeks at the end of third year.
