BACHELOR OF COMMERCE

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The program is designed to impact the candidate with up to date knowledge and skills necessary in the business environment either in finance, accounting, human resource or marketing options to cater for the rapid growing sector s both in public and private institutions as a whole.

TARGET GROUP
The program is suited to candidates who would wish to pursue careers that will them majoring in either Finance, Accounting, HRM, Marketing and thus furthering their skills and knowledge in day today decision making at work place and providing quality customer service to the highest standards as prescribed in line to the realization of JKUAT vision and goals in terms workforce produced.

MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENT
A candidate must be a;
•Holder of KCSE certificate with an aggregate of C+ and a minimum of C in both English and mathematics or
•A holder of KACE certificate with a minimum of two principal passes and subsidiary pass and minimum of credit pass in mathematics at KCE or
•Be a holder of diploma in relevant discipline from an institution recognized by the university senate

PROGRAM DURATION
The bachelor of commerce program courses shall be offered in 8 academic semesters organized in four academic years with an industrial attachment of 8 weeks at the end of year three. Each semester shall have a maximum of 9 and minimum of 7 units each unit consisting 35 contact hours. The program will run for a maximum of 8 semesters, the period of attachment included.

    • Hi Bernard,
      We appreciate you. We don’t have online learning yet here in Kisii CBD campus but it’s being offered by our Distance Learning School called SoDEL in the Main Campus in Juja. There are weekend classes which you can join to suit your timetable. On further details regarding exceptions for CPA finalists please visit our offices especially, the Department of Social Sciences.
