B.Sc. Microbiology

Microbiologists work for a variety of employers, i.e government, county health departments, and academic institutions. They may also be employed by pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology firms, food and beverage industries, and manufacturing companies.

Many microbiologists conduct research in laboratories, as well as work in offices, where they write up the results of their experiments. Academic microbiologists often teach classes, in addition to conducting their own research.

Requirements

C+ aggregate in KCSE (or equivalent), C in Biology or Biological Sciences and Chemistry, C- in English/Kiswahili and Mathematics or Physics OR K.A.C.E. 2 relevant principal passes. Diploma to join in 2nd year and HND to join 3rd year (in related areas)

Duration of Study: 8 Semesters

      JKUAT Kisii CBD campus usually carry out their intakes in the month of Jan, May and Sep each year. All applications are required to have submitted before the designated intake. Lucky in enough our applications process is continual therefore your application shall be received at anytime and be compiled just in time for the next intake. The tuition fees are fair at Ksh 70000 for the Health Science courses exclusive few additional charges.

      Oh yes, we’ve programs offered on distant basis under the School of Open Distant and E-Learning (SODEL). The Fees is paid per module undertaken and are relatively cheaper compared to the ones that are enrolled for full-time and part-time basis.
