Academic Quality Assurance

Mandate of DAQA | AQA Policy

Prof.Dr. David Masabule Mulati - Director of DAQA

The Directorate for Academic Quality Assurance (DAQA) was formed in June, 2008 by University Management as a commitment to systematically and continually evaluate its teaching/learning in relation to quality, efficiency and relevance. This has been necessitated by rapid changes in political, economic and social trends globally that has triggered the need for the University to re-examine their market positions and re-define their core businesses.

To help deliver the highest possible quality of educational provision within the University, DAQA is mandated with procedures for the validation/ verification and review of academic programmes; conducting University wide academic quality audits; conducting quality audits in Continuing Education Programmes approved centers and affiliated institutions; conducting of self assessment of academic programmes; and evaluation of lecturers and facilities by students. This requires all University staff members to aspire to the highest standards in all programmes offered by the University and to be recognized in this regard by peers, competitors, students, potential students and society in general.
