What is an “Index Number” in the Online Application Process?
When Asked to provide an Index Number during the JKUAT online application platform, Kindly fill in your High School Candidate Number or Examination number (In Kenya we call it Student Index Number) and proceed with your application. What is the procedure for equation of external University certificate
For those interested in joining JKUAT using credit transfer, it’s important to follow the following links from Commission for University Education (CUE) of equation of external degree and diplomas.
For UNDERGRADUATES APPLICANTS, you are required to have your certificates equated by the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) to match the Kenyan standard of grading system.

For POSTGRADUATE APPLICANTS, you are required to have your certificates equated by the Commission for University Education (CUE) to match the Kenyan standard of grading system.

What legal documents does one needs before studying in Kenya and where do I get them?
While in Kenya,
- It is an offence to receive education or training at any educational or training establishment within Kenya without a pupil’s / student’s pass (section 30 (7) of the Kenya citizenship and Immigration Regulations,2012)

Accommodation and Transport from the Airport
If you are an exchange Staff or Student or a visiting staff and you need a short accommodation plan, you are advised to make a request to ALISO through your supervisor/host/hosting Department one month before the day of travel.
