Board of Alumni Affairs

The Board of Alumni Affairs (BAA) is one of the organs setup to enhance alumni relations at the University. The Board has the following membership structure
A Chairman appointed by the Vice Chancellor to serve for two years;
Five (5) Committee members appointed by the Vice Chancellor to serve for two years;
The Director of Alumni and International Students Office (ALISO) who is an ex-officio member and serve as the secretary to the Board;

The Board is answerable to the University Senate in respect of alumni affairs in the University and in particular, has responsibility over the following matters:
Formulation of policies for effective functioning of alumni programme in the university;
Advising the university on how to engage with the alumni association for maximum benefit to the university;
Vetting of aspirants to the elected offices of the association;
Advising the Director of Alumni and International Students Office (ALISO) on the day to day operations of the office; and
Advising the Alumni Association Officials for effective interaction with the University.

The Vice Chancellor appointed the following members to serve on the Board of Alumni Affairs for two years:

Chairman of the Board

Prof. G.S. Namusonge is the current chairman of the Board of Alumni Affairs. Prof Namusonge is an alumnus of JKUAT and a Professor in the School of Human Resource Development (SHRD). Message

Secretary to the Board

Dr Wariara Kariuki is an ex officio member of the board. She is an alumnae of JKUAT and the Director of Alumni and International Students' Office (ALISO) at JKUAT.

Other Members of the Board

Prof. Rosebella O. Maranga is a member of the board. She is an Associate Professor in the Department of Zoology in the Faculty of Science. She is an alumnae of JKUAT and the Director of Gender Mentoring Office at the University.

Dr. Peter Mwita is a board member. He is a JKUAT alumnae and the Chairman of the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Sciences (STACS). He is also the chairman of the Board of Kenya National Bureau of Statistics.

Mrs. Florence Ondieki-Mwaura is a board member. She is an alumnae and the current Chairperson of the Department of Social Sciences and Humanities in the School of Human Resources Development (SHRD) at JKUAT.

 

Ms. Anne Kibe is a member of the board. She is an alumnae of JKUAT and the former manager of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) at JKUAT.

 

dr-wafula-ict-manager-jkuatDr. Joseph W. Muliaro is a board member. He is a JKUAT alumnus and the ICT manager. He is a former Director of the Institute of Computer Science and Information Technology (ICSIT) at JKUAT. He is currently the ICT manager JKUAT.
