I got a scholarship through Alumni Website
My name is Harun Muthuri Murithi a graduate of Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. I pursued BSc. Horticulture and graduated in July 2007 with a First class honors.
Over the past one and half years I have been aggressively looking for a scholarship to help me in pursuing a Masters course in my line of career. I have made several attempts for scholarship in Germany and Netherlands but they didn’t yield any fruits.
In March this year, I was referred to the website of the Alumini and International Students Office (ALISO) by Dr. Wesonga, the Director of ALISO. The website had an announcement of a scholarship offered by FAO through Hungarian Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. The course was MSc Plant Protection offered in English. After attaining all the required documents I sent them to Italy and after a successful pre-screening they were forwarded to Hungarian Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
On July 15 2009, I received the award of the scholarship for MSc. Plant Protection in the University of Pannonia in Kezthely Hungary. I am among four (4) students chosen from Kenya to pursue the course which begins in September 2009. I look forward to joining the university and studying for my postgraduate studies.
I am very grateful to ALISO and all the people involved for their efforts to keep alumni connected. Am proud to be associated with JKUAT and would encourage all JKUAT alumni to visit the alumni website. There is alot of information which alumni can benefit from.
