63 Students Benefit from Juja CDF Bursary

Juja Member of Parliament, Francis Waititu handed over bursaries worth Ksh. 315,000 to 63 JKUAT students. The cheque was handed over on his behalf by the Chairman of Constituency Development Fund Juja, Mr. James Mwangi.

While awarding the bursaries, Wednesday, June 5th 2018, Mr. Mwangi thanked the University for the Continued Collaboration with the locals stating that the MP had pledged to continue to support the needy students in the university.

“The MP is keen in supporting higher education and that is why for the period he has been in office, he has always disbursed bursaries to JKUAT in order to build the human resource of the county,” said Mr. Mwangi.

Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic Affairs, Prof. Romanus Odhiambo, lauded the legislator’s efforts in supporting higher education over the years through bursaries and urged the students to make use of the bursaries so that they can become agents of change in the society.

“I appreciate the input the MP has handed JKUAT for the period he has been in office and we intend to uphold the good relationship,” said Prof. Odhiambo.

Bursary in support of higher education

Jomo Kenyatta University Students Association (JKUSA) Chairman, Robinson Asman equally appreciated the continuous support of the bursaries to the needy students who he said would otherwise not acquire university education.

In attendance during the cheque hand over, was Dean of Students, Mrs. Emma Omulokoli, Deputy Registrar (Admissions), Ms. Lydia Kimundu, In-charge Student Finance Officer, Mr. Duke Kiage, JKUSA Finance Secretary, Ibrahim Boru, and JKUSA Academic Secretary, Oliver Wesonga.
